Attending today’s FDA public meeting on pulse oximeters has been inspiring. Here at Opticyte we are encouraged by the attention from clinicians, professional societies, regulators, industry stakeholders, and patient representatives on improving pulse oximetry performance for people of all skin tones. The problem with accuracy in individuals with darker skin tones is more and more widely recognized and a concerted effort across the field is being made to address the issue.
We are committed to ensuring that our VitalO₂ technology is developed to be accurate in all skin tones. It is clear there is a need and demand for such a device.
